Cylinder Relief Grinding Service
Relief Grinding is the “Manufacturers Standard” of sharpening Mower Cylinders, Relief Ground Cylinders do not need frequent adjustment to keep them “On Cut”, they cut “Clean” promoting healthy grass growth – No Brown or Yellow coloured grass. We do not believe that “Spin grinding” is a cost effective or efficient method of maintaining a proper standard of grass quality, spun ground cylinders tear grass, they do not cut.
The Cylinder Doctors will only relief grind and this is done by carrying out the following stage service:
1. Remove any coning or Conical Shape from cylinder.

2. Relief grind individual Cutter Blades to manufacturers recommended angle.
3. “Spin” Grind the tip of the Cutter Blade to 1 – 2 mm to finish blade sharpening.
4. Grind bottom blade top and front angles to manufacturers recommended angle.
Each unit will be striped, checked, ground as per the above details and then the bearings re-greased upon final assembly ready for dispatch back to our clients. Should we find a problem with your assembly we will call you before providing additional repairs or replacements as required.
